The accessibility requirements result from Sections 3 paragraphs 1 to 4 and 4 of the BITV 2.0, which was enacted on the basis of Section 12d BGG.
Verification of compliance with the requirements is based on a BITV test conducted by a certified testing centre during development.
Based on this test, the app is not yet compatible with the aforementioned requirements due to the following incompatibilities. Toll Collect is planning a relaunch of the app to address the accessibility restrictions listed.
In some cases, alternative texts are currently still missing for controls, objects and graphics.
Interactive controls, such as links and buttons, do not in all cases have names and roles that can be determined by screen readers. The status of a control also cannot be determined.
Content that is shown using the cursor or keyboard cannot be determined.
Forms currently cannot yet be provided in a fully accessible form. The labels of form fields are not recognisable and are not linked to the corresponding input fields. An autocomplete function is currently missing for fields that refer to the users themselves. For some forms, a string of characters, a CAPTCHA, must be entered. Alternative texts are missing for these image-based CAPTCHAs.
HTML structural elements
The structure of the headings is currently not optimised for screen readers. Lists are not tagged in such a way that they can be read by screen readers.
The HTML syntax is not optimised for screen readers.
The contrast ratio of some headings, buttons, body text links and form fields does not meet the requirement of 4.5:1 or 3:1. Even if the app is viewed in black and white, there are contrast problems in some places.
Language selection cannot be done via the keyboard. In addition, repeating content blocks cannot be skipped with the keyboard. The keyboard focus is not clearly recognisable or does not exist. The tap order is incorrect in some cases. Items may not be highlighted directly in some places. The menu is not selectable via the screen reader.
When enlarged by up to 200%, content and functions in portrait mode are cut off in some places and therefore cannot be clearly recognised. Even when adjusting the line height (1.5 times), paragraph spacing (2 times), letter spacing (0.12 times) and word spacing (0.16 times), the same picture can be seen.
Meaningful link texts
In some cases, the context and the target of links cannot be determined. Meaningful link texts are not available everywhere.
Error messages are not understandable enough in some places and the reference is missing. The error messages are also inconsistent in terms of both colour and position.
