Toll Collect at the ITS World Congress

We are looking forward to seeing you in Hamburg

ITS World, the world’s largest event dedicated to more intelligent mobility and the digitisation of transport, is taking place in Hamburg from 11 to 15 October 2021. The motto for ITS this year is “Experience Future Mobility Now”.

Toll Collect will be presenting itself at ITS World as a state-owned company for the first time. We will show that we...

  • ...are continuously developing,
  • ...are taking on new tasks and contributing to the digitisation of transport,
  • ...are open to expanding the applications for data within the framework of legislative requirements and
  • ...see ourselves as a public service platform for infrastructure and digital services as set out in our company mission statement.

We will be presenting ourselves as

  • an innovative technology provider with sustainable digital solutions
  • a public company that seeks dialogue with other market participants
  • an attractive, modern, crisis-resilient employer offering a wide range of different positions

What we are presenting

Using transport data innovatively

The variety and potential of this data will be shown using an animation based on the average toll collection data for weekdays – for example for traffic routing or looking for parking spaces.

TollNow – the new smart toll process

With TollNow, the toll will be booked via a mobile end device instead of an on-board unit in the truck. The booking software will be installed as an app. Before beginning the journey, all necessary data is entered – similarly to the previous manual log-on procedure. Then the journey can begin. The mobile phone or tablet registers the route via GPS. After the trip is completed, the toll due is calculated and paid. At the stand, we will be presenting a prototype as a click-dummy.

The new TollNow app

Truck toll of the future as a platform for further applications

A visualisation of the toll platform of the future will show the added value that the toll system and its data can generate. This includes the development of interfaces for the toll market, e.g. the toll collection service.

The Toll Collect platform of the future

Sustainability is always the focus at Toll Collect

Toll Collect published a sustainability report for the first time this year. The report reviews the economic, social and ecological situation. It outlines the status, developments and progress of activities in the three areas of responsibility as well as the sustainability goals for the year ahead. By publishing its first sustainability report, Toll Collect is documenting its commitment to responsible, sustainable conduct and business practices in a transparent manner.

Sustainability report

The issue of sustainability also played an important role in the considerations for Toll Collect's attendance at ITS World. For example, the exhibition stand was planned with the best possible ecological factors in mind, a microsite was created as an information platform instead of printed flyers and exhibits were designed in such a way that they can subsequently be reused within Toll Collect.

At our exhibition stand you can find out why sustainability is more than just saving paper.

We are participating with presentations

We will be represented in the diverse and extensive conference programme with two specialist presentations.
