Toll requirement: Caution with mass reductions

Simply reducing the Technically Permissible Maximum Laden Mass (TPMLM) without making any technical modifications to the vehicle is not permitted and will not be taken into account for the toll requirement. This has been confirmed by the Higher Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg (OVG 9 S 11/24).
Since 1 December 2023, the Technically Permissible Maximum Laden Mass (field F.1 of the vehicle registration certificate) is decisive for the truck toll requirement, not the permissible maximum weight (F.2). If the value in field F.1 exceeds 3.5 tonnes, the toll requirement always applies.
