  • Only vehicles in the weight category of more than 3.5 tonnes and less than 7.5 tonnes technically permissible maximum laden mass can be registered that are used for journeys that fall under the trade exemption and for which the tradesperson's business is entered as the vehicle owner in the vehicle registration certificate Part I.

  • The information helps to organise toll inspections in such a way as to minimise rejection of trade vehicles and official procedures.

  • The registration of vehicles for the trade exemption with Toll Collect is voluntary. By registering, you help minimise rejections and official procedures.

  • You can register trade vehicles with Toll Collect online.

  • Up to ten vehicles can be registered in the online form. Use the online form again if you wish to register additional vehicles.

  • The evidence you submit will be used to check whether the vehicle fulfils the requirements for the trade exemption.

    Please note: journeys that do not fulfil the requirements for the trade exemption are subject to toll despite registration.

  • Yes. Only vehicles for which the trade business is entered as the vehicle owner in the vehicle registration certificate Part I (vehicle registration document) are eligible for registration.

  • Please upload the vehicle registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document) and your craft/trade licence.

  • You can apply for a craft/trade licence from the relevant Chamber of Crafts or the Trade Licensing Office.

  • Please provide suitable documents in German or together with a German translation, e.g. extract from the commercial register or trade registration.

  • Please select the appropriate current trade title if an outdated trade title is indicated on your certificate.

  • If your trade is not on the list, please first check whether it is an old trade title and, if so, select the current trade title. If this is not the case, it is not possible to register trade vehicles.

  • If your vehicle does not have a tachograph, this is an indication that the journeys may fall under the trade exemption to the truck toll.

  • If the drivers used do not require a professional driver qualification due to their trade activity, this is an indication that their journeys may fall under the trade exemption from the truck toll.

  • No, the registration of trailers is not necessary for the trade exemption and this option is not available.

  • After submitting your data, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of receipt from Toll Collect.

  • No. The registration of trade vehicles is not associated with any legal recognition of the toll exemption under the terms of the trade exemption policy. Journeys that do not fulfil the requirements for the trade exemption are subject to toll despite registration.

  • Please register the vehicle again. It is not necessary to cancel or delete your original registration.

  • If the requirements for the trade exemption are not met for a journey, the vehicle is subject to toll. If this only happens occasionally, we recommend that you book and pay for these journeys via the Toll Collect app or the Toll Collect website.

    If you regularly make journeys that are subject to tolls, we recommend installing an on-board unit (OBU) from Toll Collect or an EETS provider. The Toll Collect on-board units can be switched on or switched off as required.

Forwarding the registration confirmation as an attachment to your cancellation email is helpful. Please refrain from sending general enquiries to this e-mail address. Please use our other contact options for this.

    We recommend that you register the vehicle with Toll Collect or an EETS provider and have an on-board unit (OBU) installed so that you can pay the toll conveniently. Information on registering vehicles subject to toll with Toll Collect can be found here.
