Toll requirement: The decisive factor is the TPMLM
Since 1 December 2023, the basis for assignment to a weight class has been the technically permissible maximum laden mass (TPMLM). This means that previously toll-free vehicles may now be subject to tolls.
Please note: At the beginning of the new year, vehicles fuelled with natural gas (CNG/LNG) will be subject to tolls. In addition, the period during which a claim for toll reimbursement can be made for journeys made between 28 October 2020 and 30 September 2021 ends on 31 December 2023.
Today, on 1 December 2023, Article 1 of the amended Federal Trunk Road Toll Act comes into effect. With it, the CO₂ emission class is introduced as a new tariff property and, due to a CO₂ surcharge, the toll tariffs will increase.
The international payment service provider Computop will take over the payment processing of Toll Collect customers' truck tolls in future. The company, headquartered in Bamberg, Germany, has won the Europe-wide tender for "Technical Services in Electronic Payment" of the operating company Toll Collect GmbH.
