Dr. Gerhard Schulz
Chief Executive Officer
Gerhard Schulz, born in 1966, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at Toll Collect GmbH, effective 1 March 2019. Prior to this, he was State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI). Schulz has a doctorate in laws and began his professional career in 1995 as a senior civil servant at the Federal Ministry of Transport. Schulz is very familiar with Toll Collect and the truck toll. During his time at the Ministry of Transport, which exceeded twenty years, he was repeatedly involved in this subject matter, among other things as head of the Policy Issues Directorate-General. From March 2018 on, he was State Secretary for the Central Services Directorate-General at the ministry and responsible for the Road Traffic and Transport Directorate and the Railways Directorate.
Chief Technical and Operations Officer
Mark Erichsen, Chief Technical and Operations Officer, has been a member of the board at Toll Collect GmbH since 1 September 2019. He has been involved with the company since its beginnings. Born in 1969, Erichsen studied informatics and began his professional career in 1998 as a technical project manager for innovative Internet applications. In addition to further positions in IT management at two large German companies and as an IT consultant, he was responsible for initiatives including the operational launch of Toll Collect’s automatic method and On-Board Unit on 1 January 2005. In the following years, he also headed several large projects, most recently the programme to expand the truck toll to all federal trunk roads by 1 July 2018.
