Our commitment to environmental protection

Toll Collect GmbH has an environmental management system in place in accordance with the international standard ISO 14001 and the EC environmental audit regulation "EMAS" (Eco Management and Audit Scheme). The system ensures that the construction and operation of the truck toll system in Germany have as little impact on the environment as possible. Toll Collect has integrated clear environmental requirements into all business processes that have a potential impact on the environment – for example, when purchasing products and services. The most important environmentally relevant goals are:

  • Savings in resource consumption (for example, energy, water)
  • Reduction of waste
  • Promotion of environmentally oriented thinking and action at Toll Collect

Environmental statement

Toll Collect publishes an environmental statement annually as part of the sustainability report. This statement is a prerequisite for our participation in EMAS, the European seal of quality for sustainable eco-management systems. This statement is reviewed by an independent, government-approved environmental auditor.

Green electricity

The toll enforcement gantries are operated with electricity that comes entirely from renewable sources. As a result, Toll Collect reduces its annual CO2 emissions by around 3,000 tonnes.
